Easter does not always fall on the same day of the year, nor does every Easter fall on the same day for all religions. In Egypt this means there are several Easters each year, varying from Christian Easter, Coptic Easter, Nayrouz and Sham Al-Nessim.

While chocolate eggs and bunnies feature in many westernised households today, leftover pagan rites that symbolise spring, for Christians today is one of the most sacred holidays where they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus after his crucifixion.

Many Egyptian Christians have travelled to Jerusalem to celebrate the Holy Week that precedes Easter.
