Education Ministry officials referred to disciplinary court, 6 acquitted

A total of 12 ministry officials had been arrested for leaking exams

The chairperson of the Administrative Prosecution Authority Ali Rezk referred six officials from the committees responsible from printing and drafting exams to a disciplinary court on Saturday. In all, 12 people were arrested in June after a nationwide leak of secondary school exams had occurred, state media reported.

The investigation had acquitted six officials of charges of negligence in maintaining the security of their computers, which led to the exams being leaked.

The prosecution sent to the prime minister and minister of education a copy of the investigation, and ordered surveillance cameras be placed inside the printing press rooms and tighter security controls.

All exams since June have been leaked via social media prior to the exams taking place.
