Egypt’s Agriculture Ministry, Thai embassy discuss new partnership agreement

Delegation from Better Pharma Company to visit Egypt early October

Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation discusses with Thailand’s Better Pharma Company inking a partnership agreement in the animal feed and vaccination fields, Sherif Yehia, assistant of the commercial attaché at Thailand’s embassy in Egypt, told Daily News Egypt.

Representatives from the Thai embassy met with senior officials of the ministry recently to initially discuss the future partnership, Yehia added, noting that the final decision will be taken shortly after a round of close discussions to be held in Cairo.

“Better Pharma is a well-known company with branches around the world. It has a very good know-how and the Egyptian side aims at benefiting from their knowledge,” Yehia mentioned, noting that a delegation from the Thai company will visit Egypt to discuss future cooperation and partnership early October.

Thailand aims to strengthen its cooperation with Egypt in the veterinary sector, Yehia said, adding that representatives from the embassy visited Alexandria and met with businesspersons who work in this sector to discuss possibilities of new cooperation.

Egypt is Thailand’s main trading partner in North Africa, with total annual trade of $1bn, Thalerngsak Vongsamsorn, minister counsellor for commercial affairs at the Thai embassy, told DNE in June 2018, noting that his country wishes to expand trade exchange with Egypt via several trade missions.

Trade missions from Thailand to Egypt will focus on many sectors, such as industry, food processing, automotive, electrical appliances, services, tourism, education, healthcare, and construction, said Vongsamsorn.
